Fish Facts: Caught in the Pacific Ocean, Pacific Cod is also known as Gray Cod or Gray Cod is an important commercial food species. Pacific Cod is a bottom dwelling fish that is most commonly found on the continental shelf or upper slopes. Our Pacific Cod is sustainably caught using the Trawl catching method. Cod is an excellent source of protein and iron.
Taste/Cooking: When compared to Atlantic Cod, the texture is quite similar consisting of large white flakes that are firm. The flavour of Pacific Cod is mild with a subtle sweet flavour with moist delicate meat. Having a mild flavor makes the fish exceptionally adaptable to all flavours and cooking methods. Preferred methods of preparation include pan searing, baking, broiling, or steaming. This fish would couple well with our Japanese Togarashi, Cajun, Garlic & Dill, as well as others.
